VIENNA TIPS

Since many people who come to Bratislava often also have occasion to spend time in Vienna for one reason or another, here is a modest collection of useful information gleaned about that city as well, which will grow as people send me more information.

WIFI HOTSPOTS:

My Vienna informant reported in October 2007 that she found the following wi-fi hotspots in that city:

"...in case anybody wants to know, there are about 6-7 open wifi portals right now next to the Franz-Josef Bahnhof. Two University buildings -- one a dormitory of some sort..."

and:

"...Cafe Weimar near the Volksoper. One of those classy Viennese cafes, but with a kind of hip upscale clientele in addition to the very elderly ladies-and-gents-who-sip-tea-and-read-the-newspaper, I guess because of the wifi portal."
